New to Ramcharger Forum

Hello @Erick, welcome to the site! I have you marked down as a deposit holder.... everyone here is desperate for information and it seems like no one has any. Not even the folks at Ram/Chryerl/Stellantis :(

Congrats on the deposit! Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forum! We are anxious for Ramcharger news and hope to get some updates soon.

So, about a year and a half ago, I was part of a focus group discussion put on by Ram asking for input on EV/Hybrid trucks. Had several different people on it, some with EV trucks, some like me with 5.7 Rams and some who were looking at trucks but didn’t have one. What came out of the meeting was basically everyone liked the idea of the RamCharger over everything else. One of guys with an EV truck (Rivian) had a deposit on the Cyber Truck, but he even agreed that if he were to tow something regularly, he would get something different. I brought up the fact that it would be impossible to have an EV truck towing, cause you would have to drop your trailer somewhere to be able to charge due to how chargers are currently set up. That a range extending generator would be ideal only if it could maintain/recharge the battery on the go so people towing could just hit the gas station and keep going. It was an interesting focus group, maybe one of the reasons the RamCharger was pulled ahead of the REV, maybe not. Just waiting for it, if it doesn’t come out till Q3 then I will probably hold off till next year to get one as my travel trailer will be put away around Sept for the year and the primary use of it won’t be needed till next spring.

I get the reason why the manufacturers raced to have EV's and stuff -- but for things like this, they just didn't make sense. It seems like logic won out with this truck, thankfully... and it seems like logic is starting to creep back in to these things. A full EV vehicle for towing just isn't ready for primetime.

Glad you were able to be a part of putting some logic back into the process!
