What's new

đź‘‹ Welcome to the new 2025 Ram Ramcharger 1500 Forum! Please post an introduction thread!

Doubt it. They say it all has to do with circulating the gas through the engine before it goes stale. Says I have to drive at least a half hour going above 40 or so on an expressway to fully recirculate. Makes no sense to me.

I has gas from 14 months ago in my snowblower and just used it the other day with no problem.

Yah, sounds like a solution looking for a problem to me. There are treatments you can put in a tank to make sure gas won't go bad as well. Idling for even a minute should cycle through all the gas in the lines and injectors, I would think :(

Ideally yes, I wish it were that simple. You can put anything you want in the tank… If the car doesn’t sense, you have new oil, and has run the appropriate amount of mileage using gas, it will never switch back to electric normally…there should be an “F Foam” button to run electric and take your chances

Hey everyone

I’m an IT guy and a musician.

In 2020, I got my first RAM, and it was also my first pickup truck. After my lease ended, I leased the 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe because I was curious about the idea of a plug-in hybrid.

At first, I didn’t like the car because it took a long time to charge and only gave me 27 miles on a single charge. It took 18 hours to charge! But then I got a level 2 charger, and I was finally able to use the car the way I wanted. I only drive locally, so I figured I’d barely use any gas. That worked for a few months as I filled up my car once in that time

Then I noticed that my car was acting funny with something called Fuel and Oil Refresh Mode. It seems like I’m always in that mode, and it’s getting on my nerves. I know why it’s happening, but I wish it didn’t happen so often. Gas shouldn’t “go bad.”

I put a deposit down on the Ramcharger because I’m excited about the range and I hope it doesn’t go into the refresh mode as often. I also miss the size of the pickup truck as the Grand Cherokee is way too small for me. I also like the REV, but I don’t want to wait even longer to get rid of what I have now. My lease ends in mid-2026.

I’m hoping for a great experience when this truck finally comes out.
I hadn't thought about the gas engine in a hybrid needing to run now and then to refresh the fuel and cycle the oil, but that makes complete sense. Internal combustion engines need to be run often to keep the fuel fresh in the fuel lines and to circulate oil around the engine. Even my backup Generac generator behind my house is scheduled to cycle once a week so that it's always ready to run in case of a power outage.

Here we go again…. Drives me crazy.

The dealership hasn't given you any tips on how to reduce it, you just have to live with it huh?
Nothing you can do but wait it out. (That’s their answer)

It was for that reason I was first thinking of getting the REV but I would see myself getting range anxiety. This way, I can get anywhere I need to and I would always have gas if needed.

Hoping by 2026 the technology is better and/or someone figures out a hack that will run electric regardless of how old the gas is.
